Used Auto Parts Company Aces PR Test

Every business can benefit from good PR. It’s one of my core beliefs about the profession and the overwhelming value of PR as a tool for better business success.

Every business means just that — every business, even the most seemingly mundane, commoditized, unglamourous.

Take, for example, a recent write-up in the Minneapolis StarTribune Junkyard Offers Fitness Tuneups For Employees about the exercise classes that St. Paul, Minn. used auto parts retailer, Ace Auto Parts, sponsors for employees.

Pilates for parts purveyors. Who knew? Who could imagine that a company in a business so off-the-radar-list, cool-wise, could be so cool and enlightened as to offer Pilates classes for its employees? It’s a great story (credit to the reporter, Chen May Lee) and a great example of what PR can do to help raise the profile — and image, certainly — of any company, anywhere, in any line of work.

Bottom line is that PR is a bottom-line business booster for any company willing to give it a shot. PR Star gives Ace Auto Parts four stars for a public relations job well done.
